Laptop DC Jack Service:

A laptop’s DC jack is the piece of hardware that you plug the power cord into. The purpose of this hardware is to accept the power being offered by your power cord and apply it directly to the laptops motherboard which it then uses to power the computer. There are hundreds of differed shapes and sizes of DC jacks to fit the needs of hundreds of models of laptops. Some DC jacks solder directly onto the motherboard and others have wires attached which then connect to the motherboard.

In time from repeated use or abuse this part starts to fail for many reasons from shorts in the wire harness to cracks in the solder joint or even physical damage to the jack itself and when this happens you will start to experience power related problems with laptop or no power at all. Getting this problem repair is critical as a shorting connection of this type can damage or destroy the laptop.

After repair needs are confirmed by us and approved by you we will replace the laptop DC jack in your laptop. Price covers all labor and hardware and includes a complementary internal cleaning service and inspection while the laptop is disassembled. After reassembly the laptop DC jack undergoes quality assurance testing and you receive notification of completed repairs.

Additional Notes: For drop-off laptop DC jack repair we need the laptop and power adapter. Prepaying for drop-off service is an option, not a requirement. We also accept walk-ins and payment after all work is complete. If part in stock, turnaround is 1-3 days. In some cases (10%) the cost of the DC jack is not covered in the repair cost and up to an additional $25 can be applied. If this is the case you will be notified prior to any repair work being performed.

HOW CAN I TELL IF MY DC JACK IS GOING OUT? Signs of a failing DC jack are as follows: Laptop switching from battery to plug power constantly or laptop suddenly powers off when moved, power indicator light blinking, no power to laptop, Your power cord plugs in but feels loose or you have to hold the power cord just right to get power to laptop. HOW LONG WILL THE REPAIR TAKE? Provided we have the part in stock, 1-3 days. If we need to order the part shipping times apply. We carry DC jacks for 100’s of laptops models please call us to verify yours is in stock.

- We warranty the DC jack repair service for 90-days and includes both the part and labor.
- We currently accept all major credit cards, debit cards as well as PayPal and cash.
